| Loot System & Structure |
Our loot system is based on "DKP" points, but because we're silly the acronym "Dragon Kill Points" wont do, instead we'll call it "Unknown Entities" (UE).
|
| I. Definition of Terms |
- UE (Unknown Entities) is a term used to reflect the efforts spent amongst guild members.
Points are earned for; Boss Kills, Time Spent, or a combination of both.
As we want to encourage speed in encounters we have on “Farm”, time spent may not be rewarded in UE on farmable raids.
However time will be a factored reward for encouraged participation in learning new encounters, in addition to the boss kill UEs.
The raid leaders can, on their discretion change the qualifications of a particular raid from time, to per kill, based on how they feel the raid is performing.
- Member Classifications. The guild contains 8 ranks:
- Guild Master
- Officer
- Raider
- Member
- Alt
- Initiate
- Guild Bycycle
- Guild Trashcan
Explanation of Ranks:
- Officers & the GM lead guild raids, keep track of attendance/contribution, address guild members concerns, decide loot, and are responsible for overall guild organization.
- A raider is someone that has shown dedication in raid participation. They hold nearly 100% attendence, and have priority in raid invites. The Guild Master and Officer ranks are all considered "Raiders".
- A Member is simply a non-raider in the guild. Someone who is liked, and considered a part of the guild, but does not attend 100% 25 man raids unless invited as a guest.
- An alt is defined as an additional character either on the account of a main character, or on an account belonging to the owner of a main character. Alts belong to any rank, raiders or members.
- An initiate is someone interested in joining a raider, but is currently on probation to join.
- Guild Bycycle = Morgorth.
- Guild Bycycle = Chisk.
|
| II. Loot Council Positions |
- Officers will be responsible for coordinating loot system and ensuring its proper management.
- Unknown Entities site administrator. Manages the UE website and aids in refinement and programming. Bentic is the site administrator.
- Loot Council. Determined by the Guild Master.
Will handle the assigning of point values of items & encounters, with the help of class officers to determine the proper prices and priority for loot that will most benefit our raiding.
- The Loot council is currently the officers of the guild.
|
| III. Loot Eligibility |
- Raiders have priority over all other characters in all situations.
- Initiates may have loot that is considered an upgrade, that all raiders have turned down.
- Raiders will be limited to one item per mob. This is to prevent high UE accumulators from acquiring all the loot from a 1st time kill.
However, this rule is disregarded if it means the loot would trickle down a rank. (A Raider would get more then one item from a boss, before we'd ask an Initiate to take one, etc.)
- ..With Special Guests! A new program called "..With Special Guests!" has begun! When a very farmable boss is reached, and it has an item that has been deemed as unwanted by every raider, even as an offspec piece,
we will create a "Waiting List" for regular guild members. Rather then disenchanting the item, we'll try to slip a member into the raid, so if it drops, it's not disenchanted. A priority list will
be created. That person will wait outside the instance until we've cleared to the boss, and we will invite them in before we pull. If the item drops, it's theirs, and they're removed from that "Waiting List".
Members participating in this program are expected to have put a resonable amount of effort into their gear. We will not accept anyone coming in lvl 67 blues.
- The above Loot Eligibility rules only apply to 25 man instances. In the case of 10/20/whatever-man, most loot items are handled through random rolls, regardless of your rank.
However, an officer that does not believe it is an upgrade for you, or would benefit someone else much much more then you, can remove your rights to random for a specific piece
of loot. (This is the "don't be a douche" rule. It is here to prevent people from taking a slight/slide-grade that would be a huge upgrade to someone else, regardless of your rank).
*Furthermore, several items have been identified as a high value in 10-man instances, and will be distributed via officer decision only.
- Officer Veto Officers reserve the right to veto any winning bidder. If the winner of an item
has attendance problems, or the use of the item is questionable, or there is any
other type of problem, the officers will discuss it in officer chat and have the
right to veto the award of the item. Defaulting loot to main tanks to aide
progression will also fall under the veto rule. This will be dealt with on a
case by case basis.
- AFK Penalty Going AFK during a raid hinders our progress. If a need arises
for you to be away from your keyboard, you MUST let the raid leader or an
officer know. The first time you go AFK without telling an officer, you will be
warned. If it ever happens a second time, you will receive a UE penalty (which
will be subtracted at the end of the night). The third time will result in zero
UE earned for the night. UE penalties assessed will then be subtracted from
the players’ accrued UE.
|
| IV. Earning Unknown Entities |
- You earn UE as you the person, whether you are playing your own character, or someone else’s.
If someone else plays your character, you do not get UE for it.
- Instance Raids fall into one of the following categories.
- New Bosses: Every hour of learning new content will earn you 2 UE. After a boss dies once, any more attempts on him will not be considered learning. A first boss kill will earn you 4 additional UE bonus.
- Farm status instances: Once every boss in an instance has been killed twice, that instance is considered to be on “farm status” and will have a set UE value assigned for a full clear, with partials based on the number of bosses cleared in a partial run.
- World bosses will be decided by the loot council upon the clear of them!
- Special events will be worth UE at the discretion of the loot chair. (We will never reward points for a heroic or a 5-man. However, in runs that require heavy participation, yet do not cost UE for items such as Gruul, we may reward a small amount of points to encourage attendance.)
- Standby Policy
- Standby UE is worth the same amount of UE as the raid for which you were sitting in.
- Standby UEs can only be earned if a player is online at the beginning of the raid, and available to enter the raid with their main. (either on an alt, vent, sitting in Shattrath, whatever.)
- There will be someone incharge of the waiting list each run. Be proactive about checking your UE to validate you were given credit for the standby list. If you notice a issue right after it happens, actions can be taken to rectify the situation. Sent a private message to an officer in such a situation. Keeping track of UE for the waiting list is slightly more difficult then attending members.
- Ontime / End of Raid Bonus. Early is on time. On time is late, late is unacceptable! There is a bonus amount of UEs that will be given out to all those inside the instance (We will start inviting a half hour before raids), at the designated raid starting time to those who are able to stick it out till the very end. Both criteria must be met in order to receive the bonus UEs.
- Called Raid. If a raid is called for attendence, or any variety of reasons, being available and on time will earn you UE.
|
| V. Losing Unknown Entities |
- Winning an item will result in a reduction of Unknown Entities by value of the item. Item values will be determined by the loot council & chairman.
- Going AFK unannounced for an extended period of time. AFK’s need to be announced in raid chat and on vent. Going AFK without appropriate notice will result in loss of UEs for the night. (see above for further details).
For tracking purposes, even if announced, after 5 minutes of AFK, you will be booted from the raid. AFKing can cause problems, if you lose your follow target you could get us wiped, and if their is AOE damage/random aggro, you're potentially wasting the healers time keeping you up.
- Leaving early. If someone leaves early they will get an adjusted proportional to the amount of time they missed, or just not get points for the bosses they missed obviously.
- Unknown Entities taxation. At a bi-weekly to monthly interval, your Unknown Entities will depreciate by a percentage if you’re in the positive, or increase by that percentage if you’re in the negative. The percentage we use will be determined by the loot council. The percentage is across the board, and will be used to combat inflation, so newer members that become very active are more readily able to catch up to more senior members.
|
| VI. Loot Decisions |
- Resist Gear. Resist gear is defined as gear whose obvious purpose is to raise one or more resists as opposed to being general use wear. Examples include the Belt of the Dark Bog or Emberweave Leggings. Resist gear is valuable to the guild, but should not impact one’s ability to acquire general purpose gear. Resist gear will be distributed based on attendance at the officer’s and/or loot chair’s discretion.
- PVP Gear. Defined as gear that is best for pvp, rather then pve. Resist gear will be distributed based on loot chair’s discretion.
- Patterns. Initial pattern will go to trusted guild member for guild use. No Unknown Entities will be charged. This will be determined by the guild council. Not receiving the first pattern is no reflection on youa s a member; it’s just a decision of the council. Subsequent patterns will be handled by a random roll of those with their recipes up on the site. You must have the necessary skill to receive the pattern.
|
| VII. Alt Characters in 25 man instances |
- Alts do not pay UE for items.
- Raiders with an alt may play them on raids at the permission or request of the raid leader. Unless specifically requested by the raid leader, alts may not come to a raid if the associated main character’s Unknown Entities is below 0 points. Member’s main earns Unknown Entities when playing their alt. Alts may petition for loot in the case that no raider desires the loot.
- Raiders always have priority on loot over Alternate characters.
- You will be required to have very high quality blues/heroics/Karazhan loots before permission would be allowed to use a alternate character. You will be required to meet that class’ required stats to be raid-able.
- Your main’s class cannot be hampered by your attendance on another class. Permission will be denied in such a case. (IE your main’s class has low attendance that day, and needs your presence.)
- This is only available on dungeons that are completely on farm status, this currently only applies to: Gruul.
- All raiders with alts if asked by the raid leader to get on their alt because of low attendance for their alt’s class, should be able to do so willingly. Again, all UE earned by your alt, will transfer to your main.
- The guild needs enchanting materials, and consumables. However, gearing up alts is also beneficial for us. Gearing out alts helps us in times of low attendence for that particular class. Therefore the leadership has decided that an alt will be required to pay for said unwanted item with a resonable donation of materials at the officer on the raid's discretion.
However again, raiders have first priority on loot.
|
| VIII. Initiates |
- Initiates
- A Initiate is someone who recently joined the guild, and is attempting to obtain member status.
- There is no set period of time that you need to spend in the Initiate rank before moving up, nor is there any obligation on our part to move up a Initiate until there is a regular raiding spot available. The initiate rank is for us to get a good feel for you, for you to get a feel for us, and indirectly to test your patience and see how badly you want to join our ranks. Keep in mind, we don't dick people over. It's not like we're collecting your social security while you are in the initiate rank. :P
- Initiates have the lowest priority in the loot chain. They still earn points, and the points will transition with them if they become a raider. However, initiates may only use their points on items that no other rank wants.
